LOG.001: Back From The Field
M
I'm mrci, a security researcher and pentester from Egypt.

After the comeback, it took me about two days to realize where I was. The first time I sat at my PC after a long break everything felt strange my fingers seemed to forget the positions of the keys, which made me a little slow. After a while my fingers remembered everything; it just takes time. I took the first few days off and then started to get back into my world. By the third day I felt more like myself.

Sometimes, you just need time to rebuild your habits.
For example, I got used to waking up very early every day. But after coming back, I realized I don’t have to follow that routine anymore. Slowly, things started to feel normal again.
Also, when you spend a long time in a very structured environment, you get used to following strict rules. But in normal work or tech life, things are more flexible. You have more control over your time and how you work.
It only took me a couple of days to notice that, and honestly, it felt good.

Now for the pros and cons I faced in this last period:

What I Learned (Pros & Cons)

Pros

  • More free time (sometimes)

    • In office-type posts you get a lot of downtime you can use productively: recap courses, study, practice on available computers.
  • Spiritual growth

    • Having quiet time helped me slow down and reflect more. I felt more focused and more connected during those moments.
Simple habit: Try to set small daily moments to pause, reflect, or reset your mind.
  • Clearer mind and better focus

    • Less screen time helped me think more clearly. With fewer distractions, it became easier to focus and stay calm.
  • Personal growth and maturity

    • Less screen time means more real-world interaction the conversations, outdoor time, and daily chores that rebuild basic social and observational skills.
  • Less screen time, more real life

    • Spending less time on devices helped me reconnect with real life. Simple things like going outside or talking to people felt more valuable.

Cons

  • Less sleep

    • Some days were exhausting, and I didn’t get enough rest.
  • Doing difficult tasks

    • I often had to handle tasks I didn’t enjoy. It was frustrating at times, but I learned how to deal with it more effectively.
  • Following instructions

    • Handling less enjoyable or demanding tasks can be tough. Over time, I started seeing them as a way to build patience and handle pressure better. I also became faster and more efficient at completing them. Over time, I learned how to do these tasks faster and in a better way.

Now let's continuing the Android App Hacking - Black Belt Edition during this vacation and hope to complete a large portion before it ends.

{وَعَسَى أَنْ تَكْرَهُوا شَيْئًا وَهُوَ خَيْرٌ لَكُمْ وَعَسَى أَنْ تُحِبُّوا شَيْئًا وَهُوَ شَرٌّ لَكُمْ وَاللَّهُ يَعْلَمُ وَأَنْتُمْ لَا تَعْلَمُونَ}

The Soldier's Services Diaries

Part 1 of 1

By day, I’m a pentester identifying vulnerabilities in digital perimeters. When the uniform goes on, the "system" becomes the battlefield. The Soldier’s Service Diaries is a series of raw, real-time field logs written during my holiday breaks , capturing the transition from a world of code to the high-stakes reality of military service.
